Verifying your identity

We need to verify your identity before you can deposit, trade, invest in Piggy or withdraw.

Why we ask

Verification is required by anti-money-laundering rules. It also protects you: it stops people opening accounts in your name and makes sure only you can withdraw your money. It is also how we enforce our one-account-per-person rule.

Accepted documents

Upload a clear photo of one of these, in date:

• Passport: the photo page.
• National ID card: both sides.
• Driving licence: both sides.

The name on the document must match the name on your account.

Tips for a quick approval

• Show the whole document, with all four corners visible.
• Use good light, with no glare or blur, and make sure all text is readable.
• Don't edit, crop or cover any part of the image.

Review

Start at Verify identity. A member of our compliance team checks your documents, usually within one business day. We email you when you are verified, or explain what to fix if we couldn't verify you.

How we protect your documents

Documents are kept in private storage, can be viewed only by our compliance team, and are kept only as long as the law requires. See our Privacy Policy.
